Over the past few months, our web team has been diligently programming a new feature called "Databases" and we would like to finally make it available for release. The feature allows website administrators to create their own databases, build forms, add fields, and apply security. Once a database is created, members can input, view, search, and export records to Excel. You can even generate forms for public use and have the records saved directly into the database!
Some of the possible uses of the database feature include:

- Facilities Management
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Equipment Out of Service
- Incident Logs
- Training Records
- Membership Applications
- Contact Forms
- Much Much Much More...
This is by far one of the most powerful features Firehouse Solutions has ever released. It is a unique opportunity to ditch Excel and place records online so that your members can have access to them. Databases will be available for all customers on Package 1 (Members Area).
The new database tools are located here:
Build and Manage Databases: Members Area > Website Management > Databases
Add, Edit, Delete, Print, or Export Database Records: Members Area > Databases
As databases are created, they will automatically display in the Members Area menu unless "No Access" is specified for the Members Area Security Level. You can also establish Database Owners, or members who can manage all the records within that particular database. We have thoroughly tested the feature so you can rest assured that your records are safe. We will only be performing minor tweaks at this point and will release a video tutorial on our YouTube page next week.
Lastly, we want to remind you that if you decide to collect personal information, such as social security numbers or medical data, you MUST have our team install a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate to protect the data in transit. The cost for a SSL Certificate is $100 yearly.
